Finding Your Way In Troubled Times

Counselling and therapy for individuals

Hello, and welcome to my website.

My name is Amanda Jane, I understand It can be hard knowing what you want from counselling, but it is an incredibly brave, life changing step towards fully knowing and understanding yourself.

I create a safe, confidential space for our work where I can listen and enable you towards a better understanding of yourself so that you can more effectivity choose the next steps in your life. Together our work will be built on trust where what’s troubling you can be explored and understood through honestly acknowledging your feelings and observing your patterns of behaviour. We then look at how you take what is discovered into your daily life.

I am a fully qualified Integrative counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from the CPCAB and I am an Registered Member of BACP (British Association For Counselling and Psychotherapy). Notably, I adhere to their Code of Ethics and provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment. As well as being a registered member of the BACP I am also proud to be a member of the British Infertility Counselling Association.

I have experience across a range of issues including depression, anxiety, loneliness, abandonment, relationship issues, low self esteem, anger and Issues related to trauma. Alongside my private practice I also volunteer as a school counsellor, supporting young people.

As an integrative counsellor and advocate for women’s health and well-being, I specialise in tailoring therapy to each unique experience. Whether providing guidance through the stages of menopause, addressing relationship concerns, navigating the challenges of Mum guilt, or offering empathetic support during the waiting period to start a family, my commitment is to create a safe space for women to explore their feelings and thoughts.

How I Work

As a qualified Integrative Counsellor, I offer friendly, compassionate, and tailored online sessions via Zoom or telephone (Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 8.30pm). Additionally, I provide limited face-to-face appointments in my private counselling room near Maidenhead, overlooking a tranquil garden with easy, secure parking.

Integrative counselling allows me to blend therapeutic modalities such as Existential, Humanistic, Person-centered, and Psychodynamic to suit your individual needs.

Speak in Confidence

Counselling is a secure safe space to bring emotions and thoughts where you can talk about the things that are worrying you or making you unhappy with someone who will listen with sensitivity and empathy – without judgement. In the therapy space thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.

A problem shared...

Sometimes difficult feelings and life events can be hard to get on top of. Looking for therapy is brave and can feel daunting. I provide a regular space for you to talk about what’s on your mind what’s causing you stress or worry and to figure out a way forward - change beings with talking because talking helps and being heard matters.

Make better, healthier new choices

I offer clients a compassionate and non-judgemental environment to help you feel at ease. As an integrative counsellor I can draw on theory and techniques from various therapeutic modalities. This means I can tailor therapy to the individual needs of my clients working together to see how you can start to make better, heathier choices moving forward.

Get in touch

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This will enable us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling. You then can decide if it would be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help you. All enquiries are usually answered within 24 hours and all contact is strictly confidential.

You can also call me on 07935 391360 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.

Frequently asked questions

How long will I have to wait for an appointment?

My aim is to offer a first appointment – known as an initial assessment – within a week. Then between us, arrange for counselling sessions to take place on the same day and time every week, that is convenient for you and where I have the availability.

Will everything I say be kept confidential?

Everything that is said within my counselling room is private, between us – this is one of the main ways therapy can differ from talking to a friend or relative. Once you are comfortable with the format of weekly sessions along with having a safe space to talk openly you will find the freedom to speak in confidence is of great value.

Please understand if there was a situation where you were at risk of serious harm or were to disclose serious harmful activities towards another person/persons then by law I would be required to notify the appropriate authority; in these cases I may not be able to keep total confidentiality. Breaking confidentiality is very rare though, and only happens after the person concerned has been informed.

Can I bring a friend or relative with me?

I totally understand that entering counselling can be very daunting for some people, this anxiety is understandable, however a key aspect of having therapy is that you should feel free to talk about any issues you feel are important to you. Having someone else with you could only make your opening-up more difficult, so for this reason I do not see clients accompanied by friends or family.

My Location

Sessions are held online via Zoom or telephone.

I am also able to offer a limited number of face to face appointments from my practice located in between Maidenhead and Windsor, Berkshire which overlooks a quiet and peaceful garden setting with private secure easy parking.

Fees & Availability

I offer a free 15 minute initial telephone consultation to see if working together “feels” right for us. This gives us a chance to get to know each other and to talk about your reasons for you wanting therapy at this time.

I offer short and long term face to face therapy, as well as offering online sessions via zoom or telephone. Daytime and Lunchtime appointments are available. All sessions are £45 for 50 minutes.

Fees to be settled 24 hours in advance of each session by Bank Transfer.

I understand that life sometimes disrupts plans, therefore you may cancel your session 24 hours in advance and rearrange your booking for another date. Appointments cancelled after 24 hours will be subject to payment.
